Alternative Perspectives is an academic initiative of young researchers from the ‘North-East’ India that brings out original research works on issues concerning the borderlands of South Asia and (Western) South-East Asian region. It encourages critical research, re-reading and writing practices on regimented ideas, institutions, and prejudices. It offers a space where writing as a form of communication and documentation of subjectivity is being treasured as a process of giving voice to the hitherto prejudiced, and the unheard. Locating itself beyond the traditional confinement of ideas to specified disciplines, the Journal is thematically open to inter-disciplinary inferences by way of reciprocating to the need for addressing a myriad of concerns that afflict the region called the ‘North-East’ India – its identity, economy, and geo-politics. Alternative Perspectives acknowledges the trigonal challenge of publishing written narratives; of understanding critiques; and of circulating ideas for exploring new vantages of knowing. The journal maintains a strict Peer Review process.
